A while ago, there were a number of posts suggesting that some of you were going to paint the sections that go across the roof (either side of the glass panels) glossy black.

Did anyone actually do this and do you have photos of what the car looks like with these painted black, both with the panels in and out?

yeah I put a thread up in september about it when I did mine

looks far better IMO

Got mine done last year, looks great when the rear window is tinted too, it all looks so smooth!! Rear window tinted is a bit annoying sometimes though, especially at night as its hard to see through.

satin black is easy to spray just use a rattle can & its hard to go wrong,

gloss black looks better imho as it looks reflective like the glass so it flows over the top of the car, you can still rattle can this but more work involved & can go wrong,

i woul sugest going to a local sign writers & get some gloss black vynal & use that & if u dont like the look ...peel it off again!

Bazzajg some bugger has only gone & taken your door handle off!!! hows it work? solonoid? push button under mirror? like the car by the way!!

done all mine in matt black vinyl,

if your not sure then go to your local sign company and buy some black vinyl off the roll. That way its only temp and if you decide you dont like it just pull if off.

Pics of my car should be attached

Thanks for the photos guys. Definitely makes the car look more modern.

What type of paint is best for this?

The bodyshop did all the work so not sure what was used in the end.

Thanks for the kind words. Yeah, the doors have solenoids based in the lower part of the door, then the garage sourced a boot release cable from a Ford Sapphire. I have a TVR button under the mirror on the drivers door and a button on the dash to release the passenger door.
