Guys, I would really appreciate your help as techical questions come up doing our build. A lot of the parts we are fitting dont have instructions and we are fitting them to other aftermarket parts making things even more complicated.

We would really appreciate getting any help or support with questions listed here .

Questions

1. There is a bolt hole that appears to be threaded next to the right hand front water pipe on the engine. Does anything go in this hole? if so what?

2. What the frack are the clips from Nissan that came with all my bits, they can be seen in the bag here and where do they go?

3. With the Tein monoflex suspension with EDFC there is a thread on the top of the shocks and a thread inside the electrical box that goes on them. There is a small thing that should do the adjustment but when you plug them onto the top of the shock there is a gap of about 2cm so you cant screw the box onto the shock. Is there something missing? or what do you do?

Question 4 what holds this timing sensor on? I suspect that it was some kind of bracket that either went off to be polished or chromed that never returned!!

ok then why dont you remove them metal backing plates too?? i thing it is cas that is atached to it isnt it ??. but if so that can be altered anyhow ..

I left the backing plates on because they have the timing marks on, I have a top cam belt cover that just covers the top of the belt.

Do you need to remove the knurled part?

Paul

where you adjust the shock settings it has a knurled knob so that you can grip it, maybe this has to be removed so that your electronic adjuster can be fitted, (in your first picture of the top of the shock.)

Yep you are right, I just did that and followed some Japanese and broken english instructions and I get the idea now.

So answers for everything so far except the clips?

  • Author

No only what is on the label on the bag, thing is because I have bought so much stuff they could be engine, gearbox, clutch,... well from anything

the clips are for the clutch release fork and thrust bearing,

the circle one holds the bearing on the fork and the other goes inside the fork to hold it onto the pivot ball

Hellraiser you are a star thanks  I can stop worying about them for the time being.

Those water hoses in your picture, did you smear sealant around the inside before you fitted them? They can leak if you dont.

Nope i guess that I will need to do that then.. I have been putting liquid gasket on all the things that I can see that it was on when I take them to bits. The old pipes never had it on, thanks for the tip I will sort it out while it is all accessable rather than have a leak later.

Any others that are bad for leaks?

The metal pipes didnt have corrosion when it was new bud.Best to do the same on any of the water pipes if they are pitted.Could prevent a disater.

clips are for the clutch fork and bearing holder..oops see some one got there first

Sorry about the description but does anyone know where I can get a set of the black semi circular gaskets that go at the back of the heads and seal to the rocker box covers. There are two of them and the other two holes have the cam sensors in them. They dont come in the engine gasket set and I broke my old ones getting them out.
