Lovely and warm here right now! It was snowing when I took off from Heathrow, but by the time I arrived in Cape Town....t-shirt and shorts!

 

Certainly enjoying the summer again!

Fuji S700. I am looking at getting an SLR when I get back home. The Fuji is the last point before you get an SLR. But it has limitations. I want to be able to get some filters and different lenses.

 

I think I'm pretty reasonable at taking a good scene, but max out with the limitations of my camera.

Actually I do like Cricket, that I could quite happily have come here for. Half the reason I am out here is for a wedding actually, the rest of course, is holiday! Mid-summer here, so very nice. It's wierd to think it's close to freezing back home. Not that I am complaining or anything!

 

Just sat out on the veranda now. Sun is very strong around midday, so in a bit of shade as my sister has fair skin...dark skinned me just goes brown! Think we're all off to the beach again in a while.

Im thinking on upgrading to one of these cameras instead of my digital one, but then i quite like small and compact.

Tho im lookign into taking some classes in photography to try and be really good at it.

Nope, her boyfriend's brother is getting married. Open air wedding at a vineyard. Should be nice!

Whale watching, although it's off season right now. 20miles of pretty much deserted beaches....the 'free family accomodation and an assortment of vehicles to borrow', plus we're only an hour from Cape Town. So it's a good base as well as a lovely place to stay. Plenty of really cool mountain hiking trails as well.

You'll not look back once you've bought an SLR Si :thumbup:

 

I have a Nikon D50 and some of the pictures I've had out of it are incredible (but you need to have the knack) :tt2:

Lucky beggar Si, it's a place I have always wanted to go, but have been too scared to venture there, I have friends in Jo'burg who keep inviting me out and say that it's OK especially on the coast and properties are very cheap to rent, along the way. Enjoy Si.
