Sorry for all the question, but really keen been after a z for ages,

 

Whats in volved changing the na/ engine too a turbo? is it not worth it, should I just by a turbo one strsight away, Iam a sucker for a project lol.

Hi Mark, Although it is possible to convert from N/A to turbo, the messing involved is probably too much!! Its not just a simple engine swap it involves intercoolers/pipes and wiring loom etc, so i would go and buy the best TT you can afford mate.

You could stick some nitro or a single turbo on the n/a and that would give you bags of power, or even just an ecu upgrade?

how much power do you need??? I own both a TT and n/a, and there is a big difference, BUT how many times do you actually need all that power? IMO the n/a engine sounds better and sooo much better on fuel!!!

Never thought about getting a n/a and putting a single turbo on, good idea, but could the internals take it or would I need to change rods and piston ect? how much money would a turbo kit cost?

 

Got a nitro kit in the loft off my old vauxhall bu dont fancy that route, eats the internals lol.

 

I have and wont part with it a 340bhp Subaru impreza type r, which is quick, but always wanted a Z for its looks but would need to have a bit of poke lol.

I’m trying to think of the chap's name on here who done one recently, I think he got an n/a cheap off eBay etc and converted to tt, it is allot of work , and as Daz says it may be easier to just get the best tt you can ?

I have an n/a and am always very pleased with the power it delivers as virtually standard (when it’s running right lol)

but I’d say have a word with a few who have done it

No worries mate, you`ve come to the right place for zed advice!!! Unfortunaley I`m not the man for good technical advice, I can only comment on what the other guys have told me or i have seen at some of the meets!!

 

There are a few guys on here with single turbos getting big power outputs and very happy with the results, I`m sure they will comment when they see your thread, good luck with whatever you choose to do/get and i know you will be happy with a zed, they are awesome cars when running correctly.

Cheers bud, just picked my bomex side skirts up from the sprayers, another weekend in the garage for me!!!, shes going to go MENTAL!!! I waxoyled my TT last weekend and got it everywhere all over the door handles ,kitchen and carpet, shes NOT happy :tooth:

I must plough ahead with mine i barely use it these days due to the various issues it seems to have developed, i'll be sorning it once the tax runs out and should have saved enough by then for what it needs and some nice tweeks
