If it turned out to be rings, your looking a bloody big bill unless you can pull the engine yourself, open the engine and fit new rings/pistons.

so test first to see.

When you say alot of smoke, how bad do you mean? Like you cant see behind you with that much smoke?

Not sure how bad it is a guy is selling it but I havent seen the motor just going on what he has said, he also says it smokes when reved now as well so looks to be bad news.
