Firstly I am trying to remove the cog off the crankshaft that the timing belt runs around. I used a pulley remover to get the large metal wheel off that holds all the ancilery belts. But for the life of me I cant see how to get that cog off behind it without possibly damaging it?... any suggestions really appreciated.

Secondly I have a full OEM gasket set but it does not seem to include gaskets for the water pump where it attaches to the block. It had some kind of liquid gasket on there when I took it off, does it get replaced with the same sort of stuff again?

Ta very much

Drill the sprocket and split it if you dont need to use it again.Try to force it off at the oil pumps peril.Oil pump is over £100,sprocket is £40 ish.

Ok no worries I will buy a new one and I expect its best to replace all the tensioners as well?. I will get an order in Monday.. thanks

i did mine the other day. tried using a cold chisel etc behind it but it damaged the sprocket before it moved. they rust on the inside and its such a good fit it wont budge. drilled mine in the end and was no way near as bad as i thought. ordered one from mjp, was with me in a fewdays and was about 25 plus vat.
