Hi folks.

Just wonder thoughts on the celica gt-4?

Ive been offered a MINT gt-4 for roughly 4-4.5k

Its a 94 model with only 65k on it. Has had the suspension arms replaced both fig 8s full service history no rust what-so-ever.

Its mint, in white with white multi spoke alloys.

Any thoughts on the car? Its running approx 300BHP? Is it easy to get more from it?

Only reason im thinking on this as the right 300 hasnt come up yet that i like.

I Personally have never liked these cars, ugly and don`t have the road presence of the zed, but it is a Toyota so will be realiable and cheap to run!

I have been in a 430 hp one and the chassis handled that power with grace. Very tunable but not as reliable as you may think when running higher boost.

Is it the one in the pic?.. Looks nice!

If its running 300bhp it's been modded, does the guy know whats

been done to it?

I've always though they look nice from the front, but naff from the

rear, bit like a 200sx!

hi craig had one of the gt4 only an earier model it was just one problem after another a bit like a 300 lol, nice drive poor vision and no road presense, prefer my 300 but at the end of my patience with that now..good luck just a lottery finding a good car,,

Love the GT4, great looking car, reminds me of the old rally days. Buy it!!!

Al.

seems a bit much for me, my mate has had one and as sdaid not as reliable as people think. but i do like them but IMO for that money i would be looking at a 200sx s14a

I've got a UK spec st205 and have to say, for an everyday driver, the all-round performance, and costs are hard to match - insurance is cheap, fuel economy is better then the zed, it can be used to it's fullest in any weather etc. BUT, I personally have had a few issues with mine, and in my opinion, it just cannot match the zed for sheer thrills - looks and performance wise! You'll also find the GT4 very flat torque-wise until the turbo kicks in - it's very '16 valvey' in performance - Certainly in comparison to the zed! If you like, I can pm you my number and you can give me a call if you want to have a chat about them!

I’m coming from the mr2 turbo route to the 300ZX. My mr2 will be for sale soon when I purchase the Z hopefully March, if you fancy keeping with a t-bar car.

Around 300bhp at the fly is easily achieved on a rev3 + engine, which the white one you’re looking at should have. Simply breathing and boost increase modes will do the trick. Ct20 turbos are good for 1.2 bar all day long.

Earlier models rev1-2 can have head gasket failure, turbos aren’t as good, smaller injectors, slightly different head.

Mines a rev2 not had any probs in 5yrs of owning it, great

little car.

I have also had a Supra, started as the usual twin turbo ended up with a T61 single.

I love my mr2, go-kart handling, very fun to drive.

How do you find the mr2 compared to the Z. Was yours the twin turbo Z?

Yep was TT auto Z.

Mr2 is like a go kart with a roof, it's the hard top version, so apparantly

handles better than the targa top?

The Supra was MK4 n/a manual, a sheep in wolfs clothing!

The mr2 is a LOT better on fuel than the Z was, sounds silly but it is

easier to drive too. I had my Z for 2yrs, no probs at all.

Good luck buying a Z, take your time and get a good one, otherwise

you'll wish you'd never sold the mr2!

i'm a little worried i'm going to miss the 2's go-kart handling. The Z i'm looking at is a 96 manual TT.

Can the Z still be fun around the twisties, and trown around?

The z will be fine in the twisties mate, but you will notice the extra weight.

Why not search for a swb z, that'll be more like an mr2.
