A lot of posts go up asking which fluids are used in the Zed

I thought we could come up with a list of them to view at a glance.

 

Oil................ 10w 40

Manual gearbox EP90

Autobox ........???

Diff................???

Power steering.....???

 

And so on

 

What do you think

I have the manual as well Dave, was just thinking of everyday discriptions i.e 10w 40 and dextron atf fluid etc, not everyone can equate the API standards

Excellent idea Allan. would be great as a sticky so people can view the recommened/best oils/fluids to use for the 300zx. Tech guys, get this in motion. Well done that man!!!!

I quoted the manual becuase it has all the information required to compile the Info.

 

Oil................ 10w-40 Semi or Fully Synthetic

Manual gearbox 75W-90 GL-4 Transmission Fluid

Autobox ........ DEXRON ATF Fluid

Diff................85W-90 GL-5 Transmission Fluid

Power steering.....DEXRON ATF Fluid

Brake ....... DOT 3, 4 or 5.1 Brake Fluid

 

We could go into more detail on certain aspects...such as when to perhaps use a different engine oil (e.g High powered engine), or when to use a different gear oil (e.g syncro problems..etc) , backwards compatablity of Dexron and the (in)compatibility and superceedence of DOT fluids.....not sure how much Info people want ?

you want it as one post and with a clear title, you need members to pm you and then you edit the thread, if it's allowed to be replied to it can become too complicated

 

if a member would like to compile a list i can sticky and close it so it doesnt get bogged down with crap

lets get the facts right and then just make a single post with no replies avalible..

Just the plain facts only. I think this can stay open for comment for a while so we are sure the facts a correct.
