machine mart, but you need a decent compressor to run air tools properly.

Ebay should have one.

Im waiting to see what pressure the ratchet runs at before deciding if the compressor i have is "beefy" enough.

Nice one, what sort of bar/psi rates should we be looking at to run tools?

Daz.

The SIP 1/2 air ratchet needs 4CFM and 90 - 120psi, wouldn't have thought the 3/8" would be any different.

will need plenty of cfm as opposed to psi which is about 60-80psi to run these..like any air tools you need a compresser with a large air reciever or tank for plenty of air storage

would need to be a goodun to give you a consistant 90- 120psi

Indeed

I have a 14cfm 3hp 50 litre tank new compressor currently being wired up in the garage. quote... "is ideal for powering all commonly used air tools."

My current 8cfm 2hp 25 litre unit will struggle to power the ratchet or indeed any other common air tool

would need to be a goodun to give you a consistant 90- 120psi

seems odd tbh, the cfm is pretty low as well.. I'd have thought like you 60 - 80 psi would be fine, took the quote from a web site

half of these claims is for a short duty cycle...i used to buy, sell.rebuild comps in my past life and ide have an old cast iron broomwade (slow revving) that could pump all day over these modern ting tongs..you cant even re-build half the comps they sell these days and after running for half an hour there so hot you cant touch em:thumbdown:

I had an old cast iron on was so so good. My new one I have to put an extra fan on it to keep it cool. Wish I never sold it now.

Bugger, the nearest store to me with stock is Chichester, nothing on the isle of wight :death:
