When ever im taking the Z out when there is a frost (or this current weather) i keep getting ice on the inside? anyone else get this issue?

I get it. Its a pain in the a**e.

Especially when you try and scrap it off and forget to turn the fan off first :whistling:

I think its condensation freezing, well I hope it is. I've got on the windscreen and tailgate..

More like a water leak from somewhere Murty, targa tops, heater, aircon or the deadly floor corrosion. Check your carpets for damp especially around the transmissiom tunnel which indicates the heater mattrix is leaking. Ugh.

I think it`s condensation freezing but must be really cold for that to happen...

You only get condensation through damp, and where does damp come from ?????

My godfather just came back from holiday (Russia) and he was saying to me last evening that being so cold in the car your body temperature is causing condensation freezing or even if you blow warm air from a close range at the car window, immediately you will see how everything transforms into ice in an instant.

Condensation is caused from warm air meeting a cold surface, the resulting

condensation causes damp.

When the temp outside is minus whatever, the temp in your car is significantly

higher, cold air hits the glass which is warmer on the inside, thus

condensating on inside of the windscreen, if the screen was double glazed

it would not happen.

Try using one of those de-humidifiers full of silca gel, won't get rid of it,

but will help. Can get them for around a fiver or so.

Yep it'll be condensation, mainly from your breath (although there could be damp in the car as well, as it's not impossible!), it's happened to me on almost all the cars I've owned apart from my current one or my Zed, but then they both have auto air-con so that helps in eliminating the condensation in the air (although not guaranteed)

im currently in poland and i bought a fiat 126 as a run around which cost me approx 80 quid or so, anyway it dosent really have a blower on the heater it just sort of wafts in?! and when its as cold as -20 the ice on my screen is unbelivebly thick!! dosent even have a cigarette lighter so that a can get a electric heater in it!! lol

cut a spud in half and wipe the inside of the screen with it! wifes tale i heard!

One way to prevent condensatio/ice on inside of screen when setting off is to equalise the screen temperature by driving with windows down ( and scarf , gloves & wooly hat on!)

Treat the inside of the car with Rain-X Anti Fog (in the black bottle - not the exterior treatment).....

.....it won't cure the problem but it will reduce the build up of mist/condensation on the inside of the 'screen. Which will in turn not be there to freeze overnight!

I have to use it weekly on my SLK as the damn windscreen steams up immediately upon start-up in cold weather. Even with the a/c on the ability to clear the screen from cold is probably the worst I've evperienced:no: ZX and Rav are much better - de-mist works right away.....!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

fill a hot water bottle with hot water, stick it on ya dash board while ya have ya brekkie, wipe away the condensation with a demister sponge
