recirc/bov/bungs sizes needed please :D who knows?

I need the OD size of the top pipe where the bung should go when fitting bov's in place of the recirc valves, obviously i want to buy a rubber bung to fit over the top of it. Yes i cant be bothered to measure it myself.. too cold....

I also need the OD size of the lower rubber pipe that comes from the intercooler pipe that goes onto the bottom of the stock recirc. not the actual metal pipe size as im reusing the stock rubber hose....

Thanks guys.

I think they might be as follows.... top intake pipe which needs to be bunged up, 32mm

Lower pipe which plumbs onto the bov, 28mm..

can anyone confirm this?

Whilst we are on the subject, I fitted some Blitz BOVs in the engine bay the other month, but I still have the recircs in place (only done a couple of miles) will this affect running or performance until I block the recircs off?

Not too sure mate, suppose the bovs will sound better without the recircs? maybe your getting the best of both words... your getting a your desired noise and also the benifits of recirculation, i think when replacing the recircs with bov's the engine runs rich when coming off boost which isnt so good.

The only reason i want bov's is due to the recirc valves being worn and sending pressure back to the turbos or whatever it is that happens....., now that i have bigger turbos i think they are holding me back, it wont boost past 17psi even with the ebc set to 100% im narrowing down all the possibilites, might need to adjust the actuators to open a bit later.... the base is about 11psi.... i was hoping for about 13 but never mind.

any suggestions?

My last recorded boost was 18.9 PSI on my Blitz boost controler. :gun_bandana:

Ive had 19psi before, but now i can only get what ive said above, Really doint fancy trying to adjust the actuators while engine is in doh.

Those new tubs should produce way more boost at the same ebc setting as you had before.Id check the pipework routing is correct.Something has to be wrong if 100% makes no difference.

Yeah its not right is it, doesnt seem like a boost leak..... i did check roughly and all seemed ok, unless something has broken like the ebc solenoid? the boost does change with the ebc settings but vary slightly, not very sensitive if that makes sense. hmmmmm if all the pipework is correct what else could it be?

Edited by j1mmytt

If it worked before and its not really working now it is prolly something thats been done whilst the engine was out.Its probaly not the solenoid. All it takes is some pipes to get mixed up.Will be something daft.It wont be a boost leak as it would be huge if the ebc could be set to 100% and youd feel it.Check the feed in to the solenoid and that the ports are not mixed up.

Il have to do this soon cheers mate, the ebc still effects the outcome, if i set all parameters to 0 it will only boost at 11psi...... does that mean anything?

If the ebc is set at 0 or off then 11 will be your wastegate setting if thats what your gauge is reading.

yeah i wanted my actuators set to 15psi so they would give me a base of about 13 but nevermind,

Maybe one of the hoses is mixed up and only one turbos is being affected by the ebc.... im hoping lol

Exactly what happened to me jim. I had a guy fit my greddy profec b and he only plumbed in 1 turbo . I was increasing all the settings and would not boost past 11 or so psi. Got my engine rebuilt by jimmer and he sorted all the pipework out, said something like...."the pipework for the boost controller was shocking!!! who done it?" Runs like a dream now!! :cool2:

I installed the ebc myself the hoses must have been mixed up while the motor was out no big deal..... Im sure il sort it out, problem is the ebc still does work, i can control boost from base level which is 11psi to 16-17 psi....

I think if 1 tub is connected correctly and the other is not, they seem to fight each other, 1 wanting to boost high, while the other does not, if you know what i mean.

But they should balance out through all the pipework, ah i duno, i just hope it warms up 2mow so i can have a look.... everything keeps freezing up lol

Could you check this dude if you have the recircs off? Im looking to block of my system entirely but a the price of alloy bungs I wanna get it right first time

Ilpost up the size when I know, it's not a good idea to block the system off entirely very bad for the turbos mate, there is a reason Nissan fitted recircs

It could be true I've heard it lots. But then for all that I've run T25's and T28's without bov's for 10s of thousands of miles and never had the slightest issue. But you get some kick ass noises

Aw if you could find the sizes I'd be delighted. Don't wanna go into buying them blind.

You could fit a pipe from both sides and T it off and fit one BOV im sure that would work but it may not release as much pressure as it should.
