What a nice thought mate, i dont have any old folk around my area, the ones that are tend to have family close by.

what a nice gesture bud, being on a council estate all the people around here are surrounded by family (i even live next door to my dad lol) so all bases are covered

thank you for your concern Bri..........................................

.........but I went out shopping today.:D

And that nice man Mr brown sent me £250 recently to help pay for winter heating. So Ive bought a bottle of propane for the workshop heater:rolleyes:

Sure is a nice thought Brian.......

There aren't too many immobile old folks near me; the one neighbour whom I would be concerned about has her son popping round a couple of times a week just to see if she's OK.

Julia did phone her aunt & uncle yesterday though; her uncle had a minor stroke late last year and has been told not to drive. They may have trouble getting about now, but they live 15 miles away; still she told them to call us if they want anything and we'll sort it, since we can still get through the snow as we've the 4x4.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

well i cleared the snow and ice from next doors path so he dont slip up. shame the fooking chavs here then though a load of snow back over it!

Lol, good effort pete! Did it come with your bus pass? ;)

On a more serious note i cleared and gritted a few drives around my grandmothers the other week and sorted the end of the road where she lives as its fairly steep and was just made of sheet compacted ice. So 9 at night bag of grit salt and a spade... throw some grit chip it up.. throw some grit chip it up... I was knackered by the end of it!

You're going to hit a problem soon buddy, there's not many nursing homes with a workshop attached and i think drag racing is frowned upon in most old folks homes
