gotta fix the rear lights, indicators are fine, checked the bulbs there all fine, checked the contacts there all fine, checked the voltage....seems a bit odd sort of flickers up and down to quick for the metre, front lights ALL work? cant work out why the rears dont? so in short neither the brake or rear side lights work, any clues? if the fuse had gone surely the fronts would be out? or are they separate? if so where is the fuse? mines jap is there a translation......its been 10 months without my car this is the last thing left....... heeeeeeelllp

daft question - but after all the work thats been carried out - have the rear lights been reconnected, or somehow could have cut through that part of the loom?

yea, everything seems to be fine, tracing everything back it all seems fine they just dont work?? does the stop light fuse control side + brake light dual filiment lights at the back?

Not 100% sure but if the voltage is jumping up and down it could be an internal break in the wires? Just a thought.

There is a light control box, drivers side rear behind the light panel the connector my be out slightly or knackered box.

JeffTT will have a spare

I can't see how you'd know the voltage is jumping about if a meter doesn't show it up?

Are the number plate lights on? The sides and brake lights should be on separate circuits to each other. Worth checking out what Baz has said.

that unit next to the ariel inside the rear quater? is that the box ou mean? im still having no joy mainly due to a duff meter, there is NOTHING at the holders not a peep, yet the indicaters still work happily......so.... this box you speak of, how do i test it?

hmm good point not checked number plate lights will check them tomorrow.... all my fuses are ok all working fine, just the 4 dual filement lamp + brake bulbs are goosed 0v on the holder over the 3 contacts, how do i test continuity of the cable appart from runing my meter from the fuse box to the holder? (silly question i know)

use a fly lead or use a link wire so u test 2 wires at the same time..eg use a link between the wire u want to test & earth for exampel..!

so u would first test your suspect wire to earth before u start & make sure its all clear,....

then at on end of the suspect wire u would link it to eart (using a short piece of scrap wire or what have you! then test the other end with one probe to the suspect wire & other probe to the closest earth!

hope that makes sense im an electrician but i just do it i dont teach it lol:blink:

right well im missing something, there is an 8 pin plug off in the corner that apperes to come live when the lights are on and the brakes are pressed, im missing a 'loop box' according to the guy who helped me, i simply plug it in and they work, he showed me by looping them all, this made them all work fine sooooo i need to know what im looking for.... anyone got any pics of boot interior stripped out? iv been told its gonna be similar to the one that lives in the rear driverside quarter panel in between the Ariel and the abs unit........ am i making scene here? lol! he said i could just loop them all out but the 'box' would be preferable

Hi Bud ,this is the light module box you need to fit to the loom as Groover mentioned ,I`ve took the pic on a cd to illustrate the size  they are about £8

You push the 8 pin plug on the loom into it and it mounts on the drivers side rear light inside the boot (i think??)
