When I lock my car the interior light stays on and then dimms to off. No issue with this but im SURE my old one didnt do it. Infact its somethnig that all my bmw's have always done but im sure my old zed didnt do it... Is it something to do with this model year(95)? Or it was broken on my old one? or its something to do with this particular car?

Not complaining but just wondering if anyone else has the same thing?

Lol, yeah its something I very much like but im sure my old one didnt do it so tahts very weird!

The time control unit in the footwell, is what controls the interior light dimming. UK cars have it as standard and later series jap models.

All models have time control units as it serves other functions like intermittent wiper dash lights etc, but not all had the interior light dimming.

Jefftt has some units knocking around that will do the job

No Paul its plastic:biggrin: off white in colour, to get to it, you need to take the drivers footwell kickpanel off, by removing 3-4 screws, its situated at the bottom of the inner panel with the loom connector entering at the bottom.

oh you little beauty!!! I was wondering why my intermittent wiper hadnt been working - I've got the dash apart at the minute for some other stuff and all the wiring seems to be fine - BUT I got this panel out of the car at the minute and the box is disconnected I reckon that'll be why :). Cheers!!

oh, i see. any idea what the box(not the ecu) is on the other side?

On the other side of what, the TCU or ECU?
