Anyone know the approx weight of gearbox conversion?

Hiya Guys, Has anyone an approx idea of weight for a complete manual gearbox conversion, ie gearbox, flywheel, pedals, prop, balance, bar.

As i have purchased a complete kit and need to get it picked up.

The company i may use charges £9.99+vat for 20kg and then 50p per kilo after that anywhere in the UK

Thanks in advance.

or alternativley is anyone from Essex travelling to Southport in the next few weeks?

dam heavy! I can just lift a manual box, i carried one maybe 10 meters to the back of my car and nearly put it through the boot of my laguna! I would say a box is easy 70kg-75kg? then easy another 25kg of shit with it (clutch, flywheel stikc links, pedals, booster tanks, balance bar etc etc)

I'll agree with you there, when i sold the autobox from mine to a fella up in the NE i met him half way and transfered it from my soggy laguna into his microscopic 106. the car came up about 6" to meet us as we lifted it out between us (that heavy!) and when we popped it into his 106 it nearly hit the bottom of the springs. Must be 100kg+ no way i could lift it on my own.

Not that im particularly strong but id like to thnk of my self in reasonable condition early, (ish) 20;s lol...

You'll need to use a pallet service, and it will cost you 60-70pounds.

You can use a "half pallet" service, because that goes on height and you will need to book a tail-lift option too...you will also need a pallet to put it on.

Drain the fluids completely. Secure it to the pallet and wrap it in that cellophane stuff.

..and yes the Autobox and TQ weights a good 20kg more than the Manual box.

Never known the exact weight, but have always said about 100kg for the pallet service in the past. They allow up to 250kg so not an issue.

id be supprised if it weighted that much 50kg maybe

i managed to lift mine up onto the top of a cupboard that is 5ft tall on my own

im quite a big chap but not that big

Was it drained of fluid?

(ive got to say both of the boxes i had to move were full of juice still.
