Hi folks ive just been reading Lorenzo`s problems with his alarm and ive had similar problems with mine. The zed had a clifford 300 fitted when i bought her and it was all ok for a few months and then the door open light came on and stayed on with all the doors closed. Ive checked the alarm circuit and it looks like it been wired into both door open switches what effect will this have on the relay in the rear quart that i have just learned about cheers

I would say that if you have had several months with out this problem and it has just started happening, then it is not going to be a fault with the alarm installation.

It could be that this said relay is sticking keeping the light on or possibly a faulty door switch.

or even as simple as the door catch needs adjusting in

Ok nice day today so was trying to crack this problem. I think ive got the right relay in the rear quart its a blue one in the pic and disconnected this with all the doors closed and still no difference. Can hear the relay working fine when i reconnect it. Went onto both door switches and disconnected them in turn and no difference and disconnected the boot one as well and still the same. Any ideas on where to go next as my mechanical expertise is better than my electrical its an annoying little fault that doesnt want to go away. :cursing:

Check your boot lock mechanism, sometimes a bit loose, will leave an open circuit, the catch has voltage to it, when you open your hatch, the interior light comes on. If its loose it will stay on regardless of what you have just done.

Will unplugging it not do the same as it would create an open circuit or does the system work the other way where if it goes open circuit the light comes on?

Im going to Lorenzos on the 6th Feb to fit him a new alarm so can have a look for you if you havnt got it sorted by then

If it goes open circuit the light goes on, there is a constant feed, but its negative switched if that makes sense, so if its not grounded the light will stay on.

Check if the boot light is on, as it doesnt come on with the main doors open, only comes on when the hatch is open. But the interior light also comes on when the boot is open

Ah bloody hell funny switches i bet it is the boot one as last i remember it was fine when i got the car but i had to adjust the boot lock as it wasnt coming undone when i pulled the lever and the boot light was staying on so ive had it disconnected ages. Right ill check it tomorrow then update thanks for the help :)

Surprisingly for the boot, the catch is the switch:tongue_smilie:
