neither was the best ever christmas no1 (imo) Floyd's Another Brick in The Wall :smartass:

Dann unfortunatly they wont get the same air play, despite being number one the rage song doesn't have the backing of the corporate machine and hence wont make the play lists of most radio stations.

anyway nice to see some rock at number one regardless of the reason.

I'm also sure that on the Radio 1 interview before they played it Zack said the band were going to give some of there share of the revenues to charity.

pmsl, so using RATM is bascially a load of shite, as the machine they are on about (mr simon cowell) still profits anyway

fookin great choice of song people, should be rage against the morons lol

PMSL Allan - and so true!!

I wanted the Muppets' version of Bohemian Rhapsody to reach number one:taz:

Richard:whistling:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

RATM might be shite but so is fookin xfactor so when its wieghed up who gives a f**k, atleast RATM have lasted longer than the 15 min this lastest simon cowell money machine will last:2guns:

StellaZ, the sole reason RATM's is at number one, is because the public (my self included) want our number one race back, we are fed up with this glorified karaoke winners getting the number one spot for singing someone else's song to get there.

People can complain all they want about how unfair it is that poor little 1million pound record contract - Joe is due to losing out to rage against the machine, but at the end of the day every song that has been number one from the x factor winners so far has been a cover version of someone else's song. and not only that, the prize for winning the x factor was supposed to be a recording contract not a guaranteed Christmas number one that it subsequently turned into.

They don't even have the decency to give the winner some credit and record an original and see where it goes.

They use the media machine to basically claim the Christmas number one spot, it was turning into a joke and the public spoke out.

RATM are donating all profits from this to charity, which to me is a very honest and humbling thing to do.

Another thing, the only reason it was in the race for Christmas number one was due to the bands name RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE (that is x-factor) admittedly though it could of been another one of their songs, after all RATM has been in the game 18 years now, that's a lot longer than any of the x factor winners / losers combined.

Also it wasn't targeted at Joe, it was targeted at Simon cowell and the x factor machines domination of the number 1 spot.

...king herod?

:santa:

I think both are a Bag of :xxx:

BUT to be honest when the Christmas number one race was

"Fair and Honest":sneaky2: Most winners were a bag of old shite.:clap:

gotta love bob the builder getting number 1 spot, what the hell was that about any way, i don't know a single person who bought that ( or is honest enough to admit it lol) :tank:

don't forget that mr blobby crap as well

Just heard that Rage song for the first time. Its absolute sh!te. Out of 10 I'd give it a fat zero.

Im a big fan of Rage against the machine and IMO the fact that so many people stood against X factor releasing for number one every year is a sign that people are bored with Simon Cowell`s music machine and to release a copy of someone elses song is just poor. :)
