you go thought a speed camera like that and your losing your licence, thats also a very good engine if you can do 300km/h at 1200rpm.

Id say

A. needle is stuck due to someone playing inside the cluster. (yet no after market dial on the speed side of it)

B. speed sensor on the gear box is naff

C. something else.

i was doing not more than 20 mph... but sometimes the spedo works fine sometimes not so fine and sometimes not at all... ????

replace the easy thing first, new speed sensor, you might be missing some teeth on the old one due to it being plastic.

Wait for another post first, someone else might of had or know about the problem, before and know if it is indeed the speed sensor.

km speedo with convertor fitted and convertor is playing up, girlfriends fto used to do exactly the same thing, changed convertor problem cured.

I had the same problem, dry joints on the speedo circuit board can also cause intermittent readings, i was doing about 50mph, showed over a ton on the clock, when i slowed down the needle dropped to the other side of the dial.

Have you got a kph converter on it?

No I have no converter on it...

Me neither, i had UK clocks, fitted another set of UK clocks to check and the speedo doesnt do what it did before, but only seems to work when warm, so either another problem with that board or speed sensor

I might replace the thing with a digital one! What do you think?
