anyone else have any bother keeping it in a straight line? mines a twin turbo manual but she's an absolute nightmare in the wet, even under the slightest acceleration the back ends away, coming back from newcastle today in 5th gear doing bout 50mph dropped it into 4th and that was it we were facing the central barriers for a bit, the lad that was with me is an ex marine and he shit himself followed shortly by myself and we had to get back to his for a brew to calm down, i had a twin turbo soarer b4 this so its not like av never driven a rwd car b4 but it was nothing like this, just wondering if thers anything wrong or is it just the norm? thanks.

change your tyres they are obviously shite. unless its snowing where you are LOL

what tyres do you have on, are they directionals, and if so, are they on correctly? sounds like you might have the tyres on the wrong way around, directionals are meant to go on one way, check the out side of the tyre for an arrow saying "rotation" if so, make sure the arrow is pointing to the front of the car when at the top of the tyre.

 

I'm not sure how well you know about tyres, but i did see a SAAB the other day with directionals on and they were on back wards. if they are on wrong they do not displace the water correctly and thus aqua plain quite easily.

i had original japanese tyres when i first bought my z. very sketchy indeed in the wet . roundabout were a constant unintentional playground. a set of falken fk451's (superseded by fk452's now) and i was back in business!!!

Likewise old tyres from when i bought the car were getting worn got some toyo proxes on there now and an amazing difference :)

did you not get my email bout your spoiler andy? its got the orginal 16 inch alloys on although iv noticed whoever had it b4 me had his left and rights mixed up rear driver side should be on the front passanger side and vice verser, could that be it? tyres have plenty of tread on them but there abit weird, hard to explain sort of like dare i say it mini tractor tyres, i just took it they were for the winter but there defo not working.

what make are the tyres and how long has the car been in the uk?

 

i would get them changed for a more "proven" brand etc. shite tyres+ powerful rear wheel drive car = ditch!! seen to many nice cars on here lost over the winter.

just had a look and there called blizzak, they even sound shite dont they? anyone heard of them? think thats what am guna do, already had to many close calls for comfort.

i got falkens on the rear at the mo for the road they ok but it still spins up in 4th if wet maybe even 5th, they much better in the dry but no where near my r888's

no problem mate. i have only had these problems with the tyres. but i do drive a weezy ol non turbo ;) LOL

i used to have a set of p-zeros on the rear that would spin up even with a touch of throttle i later discovered they were off, basically no good anymore even tho they had tread left..... people dont realise tyres have a shelf life and after a while are useless and very dangerous in a high powered rwd.
