I used to own a record shop and DJ a little back in the day, anyhows I have got one of the best collections of oldskool 12" in the south of England. I kept a copy of every tune that went through the shop between 88-93.

I have been going through it all for about a month now in my spare time and it really brings back memories of jumping about in fields and a big old club in worthing called Sterns. I have a shit load to go through yet, but I thought if anyone is interested I can bosh a mix up and youtube it?.

Tonight I spent about an hour just scratching two old tunes until the skin was almost gone from my fingertips

Its still all good, believe me. I will make you smile with some of my stuff... I blew the dust off my decks and have had loads of fun.

love old skool rave - esp. piano rave. i kind of grew up mainly on dance/trance but an old mate of mine used to bring in Prodigy tapes as and when they were released and im glad to say they helped get me into oldskool. fookin love it - i dont know what it is about it but i kind of locks into my brain pattern and brings in a load of euphoria :hyper: :hyper:

just been listening to Manix (I'm Coming) and Carl Cox (Let's Do It) :gun_bandana: :nuke:

you cant find these on the internet anywhere, or im looking in the wrong places

When this stuff came out i was just being born, haha, but still i listen to this type of music and 90's, todays music is pure trash.

true story, me and a mate bought technics 1200's in '85 and did house parties n gigs all over the place, i stopped after a bit and he carried on, he still is a full time DJ last year he copied his entire collection on to mp3 and gave me a hard drive full of all the old dance tunes hip-hop and scratch mixes you could ever think of, i think its about 65 days of solid listening !

takes me back too many to mention....lfo...orbital (chimes)...bizzare inc...shades of rhythm...shut up and dance (still going)...ragga twins (still going)...rebel mc...joey jay & goodtimes sound system...dingwalls camden lock...the fridge in brixton...paul trouble anderson...DMC world mixing championships...XL recordings...FFRR...oh and my all time fave...richie rich salsa house ...got the whole lot on my desktop :D

Roberta flack is another one of my fave tunes, I have all this stuff on vinyl. I used to love a bit of Todd terry as well. I can see a real oldskool set needed here..

ahh todd terry...and the outstanding diva's Jocelyn Brown & Martha Wash top top tune god those women can sing..makes all the x factor contestants look like jokes...had the pleasure to see them perform this once....8 min mix on the first link
