i got my 2nd engine from 1st choice spares.(cost me £2000) yellow pages,08707 800701 premier number which calls all scrappies in the country.cost £1.50,then they call u back with prices.

dont no if it was a good price i was a bit naive,1st time i'd bought a zed engine.

it was agood engine only 30 k miles unlimited miles guarantee.

i also had a choice of 4 engines.

Why don't you just change the big end shells? Or are they so knackered that they need replacing?!

Shells would probably only cost you £50-60.

Is the rest of the lump okay?

 

Has it done gallactic milage?

 

Why not change the bearing shells or failing that the rods, crank and shells. Still cheaper than a new/second hand engine.

I have a spare engine, it's from a uk spec manual with 65000 miles on it.

The only problem is shipping, as I live in Ireland... it's in good nick, and you can have it for £900.

There is a NA engine (VG30DE) pulled from a 1993 Infiniti J30 with 64K on it, on Ebay. It is in Atlanta on the East Coast of the US. No one has bid on it and the auction ends in 2.5 hours.

I would imagine you will have to pay 5% duty plus 17.5% vat on top of the engine cost.

 

Let me disclaim that I know nothing about engines so this might be better or worse than a normal 300zx engine, or might not even fit. But it could be a good deal for you.

How do you know that your big ends have gone?

Are they knocking?

Because if you are going by your oil pressure gauge, 90% of the time it is the oil pressure sender unit and the gauge that are defective and not the bearings!
