Can anyone tell me what this pipe is and what it's used for please?

Marked with green dots.

Thanks,

Thanks vodkashots.

Do I still need it then if I've got rid of the carbon canister?

you dont need all of it. all i did was cut it right back so it just sticks out of the trans tunnel and put the rubber one way valve back on the end of it.

:)

That's great thanks for that. i'll chop it at the trans tunnel. I'm guessing the rubber valve is at the end of this pipe then?

can't remember off the top of my head but, i have an incling that its on the end of a shorter pipe which is welded to a plate thats bolted to the inner wing or rail.

I'll check that out. Thanks again for the help.

Silverbullet could I just ask one other thing. My rebuild im doing, do i need to keep the wastegate valve control solnoid valve on both sides just below the plenum? I have Apexi AVC-R boost controller with larger tubs and uprated internals.

Thanks again,

Ant

i've not delt with the AVC-R but, if it's anything like all the other electronic boost controllers then, no. you can get rid of the solenoid and the stock "T" pieced vac lines.

Sorry you saying that i can get rid of the solenoid? When the boost controller was installed the instructions said to disconnect the stock boost solenoid electrical connectors and the kit does come with a solenoid. So i thought that these were then redundent.

thats right, at the end of the day, they're dead weight. unscrew them and bung up the little nipple on the compressor inlet pipe. then you can run a vac line straight from your WG actuator to the controllers solenoid. job done :D
