Pie in the sky at the moment but this question has been on my mind and i know that your rep is good on engine rebuilds.

Have you ever done an rb26 or 2jz conversion and would you take on such a project, or are you better off having a stronger VQ engine built to match the reliability of the other two. Say a target of 500hp at the wheels, would the swap be more exspensive than a standard big power rebuild.

Im serious with the question because its a possibility for me in the future.

Thanks Damien

Yer rb out of an r34 im thinking. May have a decent job coming up so it could be possible late next year. My engine is spot on but fancy a lighter engine with better reliability.

Best of luck mate :D

isnt the r33 rear setup and running gear very similar to the Z32's anyway? may just be engine and custom belhousing adapter and your all set!

IIRC doesnt the R32/33 run the same gearbox as the Z32?

Hi Bud,to answer your question mate imho id stick with the vg30.The conversion costs could be put towards bomb proofing it.The rb suffers from pretty much the same probs as the vg anyway. The only downside about the vg30 is the cost of fitting two tubs.Thats why people fit rb,s as you have lots of room to whack a huge single tub on there. The downside of rb tuning is that high spec parts are not abundant in the US like vg parts so the cost will be higher.
