Having after market parts trial fitted and tested for the Z32 would seem like a good idea and a good way for owners to have real world evaluation of the said parts before committing to buying them, so depending on the level of interest a series of threads for this purpose could be put together.

So to kick it off to how it could look here we go.. please note though we do not sell this kit so have no vested interest in recommending these other than genuine comments.

D2 8 Pot Big Brake Upgrade

Ok if any of you zedders are presently looking for brake upgrades I cannot recommend enough the quality of the D2 big brake upgrade, having just fitted an 8 pot front and rear callipers & disc upgrade from D2 ( see pics. below) I can certainly say the fit is excellent, the relocation brackets and supplied bolts etc. are all top grade.

Fitting the kit is very straight forward and the kit not only contains everything you will need but even spares washers and brake line adapters, the cost does vary slightly depending upon where the kit is bought from but expect to pay between £850 to £950 for the front kit and slightly less for the rear.

The kit use a bell type disc which gives excellent clearance but does need at least 18” wheels for total clearance. The relocation bracket is a single piece cnc machined block and hence is very accurate and well made.

The fixing bolts are all made from high tensile steel and look to exceed requirements which is always reassuring, as of yet they are not road tested and will update this thread after then, but so far given the price and build quality they look like top value for the money.

I was looking at that set up.

Have you got round to fitting the back's yet Jeff, or were you only fitting the fronts?

Backs as well will post pics on those tomorrow.

Jeff

i think this is a great idea Jeff - it will hopefully give people more confidence when selecting what aftermarket parts to go for - we both know the difficulty you had when trying to fit my Wilwoods with the supplied discs!

gorgeous!!

99.9% the same as the ksports. That i have on fronts and rears.

I also cannot recomend them enough. The calipers are so light but have amazing breaking force

Jeff it that the mint uk zed. did i read he will be sticking a kit on it :(

High Jeff, I was looking at these the other day at you know who,s before you got them and yes they are a very top notch kit.:bow::bow: I have the 356mm bigger disc set on mine only KSport. Which are exactly the same just badged different. They are really good brakes.

I'm curious to know how these kits affect the ABS set up?

Mmm..well the abs sensor works off the hub reluctor ring so will read the rotation exactly the same. The ABS ecu will of been programmed with the standard brake set up dynamics, so it could be possible for the changes in braking dynamics to require an ABS ecu update.

But having said that, manufacturers are very good at building large amounts of redundancy in items such as engine ecu mapping and possibly the ABS programing and would hazzard a guess it will be just fine, but once fully road tested i will add my findings here.

Top question...nice one.

Jef

It will mess it up a little im affriad. Well it has done on mine. but only from 10mph down its really keen??

Apart from that there amazing

They look really good.

Loving the name on them..
