I learned the hard way.lol!!

Re-builds and the money is not the option my only problem is i USED to get impatient on getting stuff but ive learned now to just sit and wait on the re-builds got 3months of practice.

Nafs could turn out to be a bargain i agree, tho it could also turn out not to be and be the same saga over again.

Craig when it comes to cars you are a nightmare but here is how I see it.

If you are thinking about spending £10k plus on a car, the price of the road tax should not be worrying you!! what will you do when it comes to the expensive servicing or a hefty repair bill?

Buying something on finance that is only ever go to depreciate is a big no no, you will end up paying £15k for a car you will sell for £5 in a few years.

And now for the biggy ...

This is a 300zx forum and if you really want a car with style buy Nafs, I know it may have a problem but if you go about it correctly you wont regret it and have a well respected car from the forum !!

well said that man.

I have a real soft spot for the GT4 I am also looking at these. Fantastic looking cars.

OEM skirts and spats, lowered and a jap exhaust. filter chip and boost will see you around the 300hp mark and 0-60 about 4.5/5 secs

Wow they have come down in price. It was only a year or 2 ago the were around 10/12K.

if your after a BM why jump on the M3 band wagon, yeah OK they are quick, but jesus, everyone and there uncle seems to want to have a M3, or do their BM up to look like a M3, go for a BM with some attitude and something a bit more stylish and unique

click this for the best looking BMW on the planet

Agree they look sooooo good, still on my wish list as a future purchase...one day!!

As for the one you've been looking at Craig, I also agree with your slight concern as I think it does look a bit on the plain side and I think you know yourself deep down the you really want another zed. I say put your last experience behind you, as you've said you have learned from it, so get yourself a zed and if its one needing work then take it straight to one of the well respected members on here like zedworld and I can't see you ever regretting it mate.

I had a bannana yellow GT4 - It's an awesome car - very different handling characteristic to a Zed because of the 4 wheels drive and you may find low speed control a little lurchy because of that clutch.

Overall though a great Jap car and hugely underrated - especially in tuned form.

just noticed the m badge on the rear, now this looks to be stuck on as the msport model is diffrent to an m3, someone has tried to make it look like an m3, my point is has it been driven like an m3 and been ragged???

Its hardly been made to look like an M3... craig of all people should know that! (no spoiler, wheels, wings, mirrors, exhausts etc all different) The M badge is a popular thing people buy for some reason, I've no idea why! Its even worse when people buy the fake badge from halfords and put it on an audi or something!

Just want to put my 2p's worth in here

I have had 14 BMW's in total mostly large v8 saloons including 5 x 7series from 740's to my last Beemer which was a supercharged 745i banging out 440BHP with AC Schitzner adaptive ride suspensions and dynamic drive active roll bar. It was an absolut HOOT to drive. I have had most of the M'cars at some point or another including an E46 M3 and an E46 M3 CSL..... but without doubt, if you are looking to spend around the £10k mark - the most fun you can have and the biggest bargain out there at the moment is an E39 M5. I had one in Silverstone pale mettalic blue with a two tone nappa hide interior.

I know what you are thinking - WTF!!!! A big boring saloon- but I promise you - DRIVE ONE. I never found a standard E46 M3 that could beat me off the line (extra weight and larger tread width always seemed to give me better traction). It has a built in de limiter!!! (get past 155mph in 5th then change up to 6th and you can keep going to over 180mph!!!!) It has one of the best, most progressive LSD's in the business and handles like a car half its weight. I promise you will be able to drive all day and not see another one AND it seats 5 in real comfort and has a chuffin great boot too. Added to which it is built like a brick shit house!!!! It is FAR better built than any of the M3's I have driven.

Added to which, find a neat 99/2000 car and you will not have to worry about emissions just like with your Zed. AAANNNNDDDDD.... because it is a 4 door saloon - the insurance is a lot cheaper than you might think.

Seriously - I am begging you - try ONE - and you will love it.

I promise - just have the balls to be different - you will never look back!!!!

my mate had a m5 lke you are on about, it was a schnitzer jobbie and was fast, very fast, i considered one myself but im after a bit of flash, hence the e46 m3 cabby, flash with a bit of dash

Cyrus JH, you might just have reopened me to an M5 again... but too refined? I want the drama back again!

Mate....... drive one - you will never find it easier to go sideways at 100 mph in a 400+Bhp car!!!! V8 Engine - Fantastic Handling - TRY ONE!!!!!!!!

lol. see the links of this forum and putting up threads about cars its great.........because you hear about cars you would never really consider as such the m5. to me its to big etc, but then it sounds very impressive.

As for the 8series at 5k, i dont think i could cough up that cash with a car thats got 258k miles on it.lol.

The 330 i was looking at was an older gentleman who traded it in for a brand new red cupra k1. Its just an msport badge nothing like an m3, theres a replica e46 m3 in greenock and its a really really good effort but you can tell by the back box its not an m3, also the sound from it, to revy not to go anywhere for an m3.lol.

Still tho...........i do like the 330, yes it will seem slower for me and will never keep up with a zed or gt4 or m5 but theres just something about it.........

200sx import with all the toys for less than 8 grand. I know what i would do, on the other hand a bomb proof daily drive dare i say would be a Supra. I would stay with jap IMO.

Not bomb proof. My pas pump has just gone

Ha Ha not so bomb proof then. My supra was indestuctable, 6 odd years of owning and not one thing wrong. I loved that car:cry:

But i have a sexier car now:)

ffs just get on the bus and you will hardly ever be broken down.lol

the best choice here is the e39 m5, with a decent exhaust.

Ive had a cabby bmw, was great an all but to be honest you dont really get the weather for it atall.lol!

tbh if you want reliability, get a Robbin reliant, its in the name, i mean when was the last time you seen one of them sitting on the side of the road with the bonnet open and hazards flashing away?
