will a standard 16 bit ecu out of a 1994 TT Manual be ok for my jap import 1990 TT its been converted to manual and has the standard auto ecu in at the moment?

dunno but one thing to be aware of is that 16 bit ecu's can not be chipped as I remember . Just in case it was a future plan

IIRC a 94 ecu will be fine.

 

ok so this ecu will be fine then? it will be going to be chipped for 555s ect!

16BIT ECU can be chipped but the correct mappings are rare indeed, so much so you would be better off keeping your old auto ecu and having the eprom changed in that, will work fine and there are plenty of mapping options open to you then.
