Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I tried and tried to get a rear facing baby seat (necessary for new babies) into a UK Z, but failed. I even went to the trouble of taking the rear seats out and trying to mount something directly to the floor but to no avail.

There are a few forward facing seats that will go in (don't ask me which ones!!) but for newborns, in my experience, you're outta luck.

Solution = Mum goes in the back and baby goes in the front LOL!!

Hi Mate, had the same probs myself .I found a Britax seat that fitted well in my zed.You will find though when the child gets around 18-24 months you wont be able to put the seat in front of them back very far as the childs legs dangle over the edge of the seat.Take the zed with you and try out a couple.Any good shop will be willing to let you do this.

I've got a Maxi-cosi in the back - only one I found that would fit, but that's a forward facing, never found a rear facing one that fitted in the back (my zeds an import and the door mounted front seat belt isn't really suitable for baby seats

Daughter is now coming up 2 and, as Jimmer says, leg room is a serious issue - for Mum and daughter - still trying to find a more suitable seat for the back - so advice from other zed 'dad's' would be appreciated. Have already had the "it's got to go" comments from the missus, mind you, she's been saying that since I bought it 8 years ago:D

the only way is baby in front and mum in back or just leave mum at home :)

i have a 3 year old and he sits in the front , in my case im not with the mum so dont have the issue (glad she outta of my life now she just fleece me) but he just sits in a seat in the front. my sons loves it , just keeps telling me to go faster daddy stop driving slow faster faster and then he giggles like mad and that makes me feel great , he doesnt understand law yet but i keep him happy and safe of course at the same time

I have a car seat from the makers JEEP (the buggy not the car manufacturer) and it fits snugly in the rear seats behind the misses. though my misses can have her car seat well forward because shes a short ass lol (shes going to kill me when she reads this haha)

Sorry mate - I'm in with everyone else here - I have not found a rear facing seat that will fit in the back.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE - DON'T TRY A FRONT FACING SEAT WITH A NEWBORN. If you break hard the force is hard enough to snap a new borns neck in a front facing seat - they simply don't have the neck strength to stop their head.

Only way is rear facing seat in the front seat and wife in the back (or the boot - laugh!)

Any problems call Britax customer services or go to a Halfords fitting centre - they will both help.
