just want to thank everyone who offered advise on my gearbox problem, as my wife is in hospital i thought my fellow friendly users might have offered to help, but i would'nt have thought not using this site for a while would have warented no responce, but i was sadly mistaken.

i thought it was for 300 users like myself, but it seems i was wrong.

mocox.

At least you left it a whole 6 hours before your rant!

Chill out dude, not everything gets answered in the first few minutes you know. Going on little outbursts certainly ain't going to do you any favours!

speedo working ? try flicking the hold switch next time ! could be a few things like revolution sensor, ecu or the box itself best thing to do is drive it steady until your wife comes out, then get someone to put it on conzult datascan !

Most people are in bed or getting pi$$ed at the time you posted that question. As Paul said above, speed gear box sensor is an easy check.

Hope your wife is ok.

Hi mate,

Seems like it must be in the air with Autoboxes - Mine did exactly the same thing yesterday. I can get 1st and 2nd no problem but then just revs and revs and won't change up - having to drive everywhere slowly in second at the moment. I have tried flicking the O/D button on and off and over revving a bit to try and encourage it to shift - even tried manually shifting up through 1 and 2 but as soon as I got to D....nothing changed!!

I am hoping it is the speed gearbox sensor too otherwise it is manual conversion here I come!!!

Good luck sorting it out and i will be really interested if you get to the bottom of it. If I sort mine out I will let you know the result.

where is the speed sensor can you tell me please

It's at the back end of the gear box, if your underneath it with you feet facing the engine, it's on the left hand side (I think) about 2 thirds the way up the gearbox, you'll see about a 2 inche ish black/silver cylinder with a cable coming from it, unplug the lead, and there is just one 10mm bolt holding it, i have one since my manual conversion which i'm pretty sure is a good'n, ya can have it for nowt if ya pay the postage pal.....

Look at the FAQ and its under transmission. there is pics too, i tried to copy the link but could not. You will find it mate

mococx... is your box changing gear at all? I would be interested to know if it has the same problem as mine and if your replacement sensor sorts it out - I could really use it not being a replacement gearbox job.... not this close to Xmas!!!

:(:headvswal:confused:
