Hi guys - simple enough question - Is anyone running Racelogic Traction Control on a LWB TT Auto and if I have it fitted will I need to have it adjusted/a new unit when I get me manual conversion done?

btw - is it any good?

I've bought a Racelogic TC and will be fitting it in my auto. As far as I know, the only difference between the auto and manual when fitted is the Launch control. It doesn't work on autos due to the lack of a clutch. The TC function will be fine in either a manual or auto as it works off the abs not the gearbox.

Do you mind me asking where you got it and who's installing it for you?

Got it from Dan at DTA, will probably be installing it myself. Have a word with Dan, he'll help you with any worries.

The Racelogic TC is one of the best upgrades you can do on a zed

I wouldnt waste your money imo.:smash:

Why are you so against it CarMad?

It wires up to the abs unit which is behind the drivers seat and behind the trim to the side of the rear seat.

It is a little blue box. Most of the wiring is done there.

Race Logic is one of the best traction control units availible because it detects wheel spin by using the abs sensors.

Others don't work in this way and will cut power not as accurately.

Does that mean you are a fan of this system Jaffa? CarMad seems to think its a waste of time!?

Trying to gauge if it is worth it as this is my daily drive and I am an "enthusiastic driver to say the least!! :nono:

It's worth having if you want to stop the rear wheels spinning out on you. Some people think it's cheating having a TC and are quite happy without it. I wrote my old zed off at the beginning of the year due to the wheels spinning then hitting black ice! I'm not saying that I wouldn't have spun out on black ice if I had TC at the time but The wheels wouldn't have been slipping when I did. As said the Racelogic TC is the best system you can get.

It's a really good system.

completely switchable, on and off with different amount slips between.

When i got my car back from being mapped first time round it was pushing 520bhp, if i dropped down from 5th to 4th and kicked it hard the rear end would light up and kick out.

It was hard work to drive, With the RL i left it on the lowest setting as a fail safe.

My dad has a Granada Cosworth not the fastest of cars but when booting it he lost the rear end and spun it around. With RL would this of happened? unlikely, it would of corrected him as it would not of allowed will spin for it to spin out which resulted in writing the car off.

If and as you start tuning the car you will find the RL one of your best purchases, also watch the video on the RL website how cars corner with it on compared to off, take a much tighter and cleaner line.

You can argue the best drivers don't need RL and faster without it but they are proffesionals who race day in and day out.

Some car manufactures are starting to fit the RL setup to their cars. Top gear features a car which had it installed by the factory.

At the end of the day we are all humans and the RL is a fail safe and corrects us if we make that mistake which could resort in loosing the end and who knows where that may leave you.

I never got round to using the Launch control feature so can't comment on that and is worth it even without that.

The other way to look at it is..

I know several people who have spent allot of money tuning their cars and they are scared of them, they will feather the throttle and not get the most from their cars as they were cautious and didn't know the breaking point when the rear would give.

Then there was me and my car in, i could just nail the accelerator in every gear, the RL allowed X amount of slip so in other words i got the most from my car i could as where they don't as they are very cautious and don't know what the exact point they can take it upto.

And if you wanted some fun, just by a flick of a switch it is off. with a birght warning l.e.d.
