Hi,

I'm looking at taking the Zed off the road for the winter while I sort my suspension out, and buying an old Audi Coupe. I can't find any decent reviews of these online, which is really weird, and I've been unable to find any MPG information for each of the engines, can anyone point me in the right direction?

Also, what would be the likely cause of the dashboard guages failing (fuel, temp & speedo), as I'm looking at a cheap one on ebay with this issue & was wondering if it was an easy fix?

Cheers for any input\advice,

Brian:duffer:

Great cars I have had three Audi 80 coupes and an Audi 80 convertible bodywork should have no rust unless it was damaged 2.0L engines a little slow V6 2.3 2.6 and 2.8 far better. Quattros have great grip and cared for cars will have no issues. So like most cars you get what you pay for but I can highly recomend them.

I love these cars. I don't know a huge amount about them, but was looking round for one as a daily driver about 3 years ago.

You want a 92 onwards.

im looking at the convertible as a daily hack after the Saab was written off at the weekend.

Something a bit classier about the older Audi's rather than the brash newer ones.

Totally agree. Something about the old Cabrio that screams 'class'. I guess it's because they were quite rare, even when new. Newer Audi cabriolets everywhere now, about as regular as Ford Fiestas. This and the old Merc 500SL are one of the few cabrios I'd actually own.

Hmm, I don't think I'll be buying a minter by any means - I've only got £4-500 to spend :D

Glad you guys approve though!
