Hi,

Continuing from my previous thread about my water feeds!

Jimmer kindley pointed out that my oil line was to close to my down pipe

Before.

Since my other thread ive moved my oil line from the down pipe and wrapped it in sticky back heat shield. Should this be enough clearence now?

Also would it be a good idea to heat wrap the down pipe? Ive heard mixed reviews in using the cloth heat wrap.

Now.

now doing mine ive had made up an stanless braided pipe made to long. oil feed drop down below tub and come up olong way outside the tub.maybe benifit who knows.

  • 2 months later...

Just be looking at these pics does not look right to me, would it be better to run the hoses under the turbos?? Would like to know just about to fit mine... or any pics would be nice

Rally cars wrap thier manifolds and so do alot of race cars... i cant think of any downsides to it apart from maybe looks? but can you see them from the outside unless the engines out?

less heat under the bonnet, more heat in the exhaust system= better flow...

I should think any thing that will cut down on the heat transfer and possible cooking the oil in the pipes which could eventually start to clog up lessoning your oil feed to your tubs is a good thing .

Where did you get your bolts from your down pipes that go in the back of your tubs as I need to find a set of them. All of the ones I have here that I have tried have a different thread!.

Looking good

Erm.... thats a tuff one because ive got a tub full of nuts and bolts that ive gained from two engines. I could try and measure the thread for you if you like? Im hoping they will handle the heat of the down pipe!

As for the ceramic coating and heat wrap ive covered most things that are prone to get very hot including oil lines exhaust and down pipes aswell as the manifolds and turbos. The less heat transfer the better

:tongue_smilie:

Those bolts have very fine threads on them, I dont want to go borking the tub holes with wrong bolts.
