Anyone got any smart ideas of how to lift a long steel I beam off the back of a flatbed lorry, beam weighs 300kg!

Can't use a forklift on the site because of the ground / restricted access, only way I can think is to have about 8 blokes..? The Corus's delivery lorry doesn't have a hoist to offload stuff.

cheers,

Jay

Forgot to add the beam is 6.5 meters long!

should only take a couple of ya, me and hubby lifted a steel girder off the back of his and that must have weighed about 250, nearlykilled me but we still managed it

lol was thinking same

My mate will give it a go, he can bench press 280KG
My god:eek: thats over 600lbs:eek:

To put that into perspective i am 20 stone my self and have been bodybuilding for 27 years. I can bench 8 44lbs plates (thats 396lbs) for reps. Your mate is using 16! 44lb plates with two 10lb plates to make 600lbs:eek:

The mans incredible, who is he? is he a power lifter? whats his weight?

Saying that there are a few guys that bench over 1000:eek:

doesnt matter how much you weigh on how much you can bench.lol!

I way more than my pal and hes bench 30kgs more than me.lol!

Oh thats an easy one. Your pal has better muscle density/quality than you:nana2:

if he's got shorter arms than you it might help him too...!! but back to the qustion 4guys could lift it no problem but i think the tie it up & drive off method would be much more fun!!!!!!

No idea on his weight, he is a mountain though. I'm 6'2 and he makes me look like a child. In hight and pure size! There are bigger guys down the gym I go to but he is just so powerful.

jesus christ.............you want me to come down and sling it over my shoulder for yi?lol?

I would say that all this talk about strong guys is on topic. Get ya self down to the local gym and give 4 guys a drink to lift it of for ya. They will only have to lift 250ilbs each:) Were always up for a challenge.

Or chain it to a winch fixed to a heavy car like a range rover and winch it of:rofl: short of a crane or fork lift what else is there?

I would love to see the video:)

If you don't need to be subtle about it, rope it off, drive truck away fast. Job done.

not bad idea but due to the length it will bend when it hits the deck :nono:

but you could drag it off almost then get a couple of guys to lift the last bit to the ground

ahh bristol!! i will be there on thursday night/friday morning.
