Side Lights - Instructions for replacing with LEDs - Part 1

Taking the advice of Dan of DTA, I decided to replace my existing sidelight bulbs with LEDs to match the HIDs.

Definitely a good mod and relatively simple.

Below are instructions with photos and I hope that they are useful.

Thanks to turbocraigy for his advice.

---------------------------------------------------

1. To get to the side light (which is actually at the front, integrated with the fog lamp), you first need to remove the indicators which are on the side!

2. Remove the 2 screws on the right hand side of the light.

3. Next, pull out the light and leave it hanging.

4. You will then see the rear of the side light secured to the bumber via 3 bolts. Remove these and also pull out the power harness.

5. The light will now simply slide out of the front.

6. Remove the 4 screws on the back and open up the housing.

7. The side light is in the black socket. Twist and pull this out, remove the bulb and replace it with the LED.

8. Put everything back together again in the reverse order. Do not forget to plug the harness in again!

9. Enjoy the new look. Definitely worth it.

The photo below shows both my HIDs and the new LEDs, which when a sickly yellow, would have spoilt the look. Very up to date.
