Seriously, would you be seen in one of them? I don't think I'd fit for a start and you're about the same height as me.

well if i was to be get one, id save 100 pounds per month for a start, also i now work 1 mile away so its a waste of petrol to use my 2.5 bmw or even my GTO, so im going to have to get rid of the BMW unfortunatly.

sat in one last week, very cramped small but excellent of petrol lol.

Ever heard of the sport known as Walking??? :smash::smash:

Thought smart cars were skateboards!! Can't understand why you'd buy a further car just to drive 1 mile to work- especially in that London!

When i see them on the motor way i always think what the NCAP safety is!!?? If somthing or someone hits you :eek: May as well be on a motorbike!!

Are'nt those things very safe due to the design of them???? The Arc gives it tonnes of strength does'nt it. Infact i remember seeing a test of driving it into concrete at 70mph and if the human body could take going from 70-0 in less than a second then you would actually stand a chance of survival!!

This is the right car is'nt it, or am i confusing it with something else??

it was done on fifth gear where it was smashed at 70mph into a solid concrete wall and the door still opened and closed and the driver's wouldnt have been crushed, however at that rate of deceleration your internal organs would rip off whatever they are attached to and you would die of masive internal injuries lol, i would get a decent mountain bike for a mile ride lol

I thought it was this car i'd seen, taa mate :duffer:

So worrying about the safety of these things probably is'nt a massive concern considering they're safer than most small cars on the road! The design makes the internal cell super strong. Still hate the things and think they look :xxx: tho :p

Good idea that! Get yourself a bike - job done! :)

someone owns a smart car round the corner where i live and some kids picked it up and moved it round the corner, the guy was telling me he came out in the morning and thought his car had been nicked! lol

Mr Peach had one for a couple of years and we loved it. REALLY cheap to own, had all the toys (a/c, multi CD, electric everything, semi-auto, traction - yes traction!!). I drove it from Leicester to Southampton and back one day, without even getting out at Southampton, and didn't have any aches when I got home - very comfy. Sat at about 80 most of the time too, and still had enough fuel left in the tank to go to Worcester and back the next day (only £25 a tank then). Bargain!! And I have actually seen one driven carrying a full sized washing machine! Oh, and as far as I recall from my research back then, they were the safest small car on the road due to clever cell design.

But if it's only for a mile, you should definitely walk you lazy bugger!! LOL!! :)
