as you know we have just bought the grey zed and now it`s started making a noise what dad thinks is the big ends, because really loving the car bought it hoping it would stay trouble free and wouldn`t have to spend money on it till we were back on our feet, me and dad are gutted:shock:

Dad belives the job can be done while engine still in,

can anyone advise on a link to doing the job and where the needed parts could be purchased and what sort of money it would cost.

are you sure its big ends could just be lifters do a search for both think there is

also a lot of vids on utube on the subject

 

don't think its a nice job to do with engine in

I thought the same about mine untill i put some Forte engine flush in the oil then changed the engine oil and put Forte top end treatment in and ran it for 30 min had a loud tap that turned out to be a sticky lifter, worked a treat.:bow:

Same with mine got it of ebay ran like a bag of poo but was very cheap

 

flushed it slick50 new oil and filter hay presto very smooth quite zed

 

try it 1st will not cost much.

we've give it an oil change and put in Wynns hydraulic valve lifter fluid,but no

change unfortunately:confused::confused::cry:

Know there not brill for diagnosis but heres a couple of vids below any help or advise really ,really appreciated.

If it was big ends you almost certainly wouldnt notice it at tickover.By the sounds of it id say it was timing belt area,maybe a slack belt from a collapsed tensioner or similar.Dont panic yet bud im sure its not terminal.

Just can't believe it,really knocked us for six .

it sounds the same as hellraiser had, it was his belt tensinor, if it was bottom end you would only hear when revving it and letting the revs drop, it sounds lke a hammer knocking on the inside of the engine, doa search on bottom end i have a vid in there and shows what a knocking bottom end sounds like and how to diagnose it by removing the coilpacks when knocking is happening
