The little petrol pump symbol will light up, it also has a needle which gives you a clue how much is left ! I personally would not recommend leaving it so late . :)

Needle lies though I can get it lower than empty, I guess they did that so you don't run out, 200sx did the same could get that about 5mm below the empty line :)

Personally I dont see a need nor would I want to suck the dregs out of the bottom of the tank so I refill sometime soon after the needle goes past the last quarter.

I had this on mine. Bulb seemed ok but swapped it anyway. Worked a treat!

Thanks Guys and i appreciate all you opinions but sometimes the petrol goes quicker than you expect and you find yourself a bit low..as it happened, the garage i found only had 95 ron unleaded, i put £10 in, would this do much damage, i'm going to fill her up with 97ron asap, but would that little bit of normal petrol do any damage?

Back to topic..I have visual performance gauges and the petrol gauge is like this (see picture)

would the low level light glow, as its already 'glowing'..??

Thanks a lot everyone

WOW man i love those guages!

Not seen those specific ones but I would be very surprised if there is a low petrol warning light on them.

Warning light tends to flicker a while before staying on solid. Ran mine out completely after driving around with the light on for a few days. She just cut out and coasted to a stop. Quick call home and a container was on the way. Then to the garage for 69 litres! Always use 95 also - UK stock version - well with intake and exhausts.

No issues, no residue, none of that B/S thats why we have fuel filters. Just put the fuel in, turn ignition, hear pump pressurise system and start up, no drama.

I only ever use 95 in my import not had any problems, have tried 97s and 99s but doesnt make any difference that I can feel, I am running standard though and don't constantly thrash it, just have the odd blip here and there.

My car is chipped etc, i once ran it on 95 and good god, it was dett'ing and i couldnt drive it normally, never again....

You won't feel a difference all other things being the same (although Shell claim their additives increase throttle response etc etc)... RON is a measure of a fuel's resistance to knock NOT calorific value; i.e. the difference you would feel would be, say, on a warm day 95ron would detonate whereas higher ron fuels wouldn't.

I once stuck some asda 95 in mine, £10 worth i was desperate as every dam garage was shut or had tankers in it refilling it. It ran awful, slow, sounded bad. So i carefully drove it home and then next day brimmed with vpower... much better!

If you have a UK stock unit then it is set for 95 and mine runs totally fine on it. No doubt if boost was upped there would be a risk but the det sensor works fine and no issues. Have tried the higher octane types but any improvement was mostly imagined. I also did not get any more mpg. The timing is on normal too. If you advance it a bit in the search for more power then again you bring the risks that need the costlier juice.

It loves cold damp weather and fairly shifts on that! Costs nowt in Scotland!
