Gear box removal?

Ok, i have all the bolts undone and removed, yet the gear box wont for the life of it come free from the damn engine, i would of had this thing done by now if i could just get the engine and gear box apart.....Arrrgggghhhh!

 

all it has to do is slid backwards to get the spin-dally thingy (cant remember what its called) out of the clutch area. any hints and tips. and no i dont have a sledge hammer
