My car is a series 1, I have read a little info with regards to changes from the model years, and I have been wondering if Series 2 dash pods would be compatible with series 1 wiring e.t.c

 

The reason I ask is due to the airflow direction option and apparently the settings stay stored when you turn the engine off/on, unlike the series 1.

 

Can anyone tell me any info on this please. OR if it is possible to make a series 1 store which settings you had the heater/fan settings on.

Yes you can change them for the series 2 but you also need to change the fan control ecu as well.

Okay that's good to know :) .. now I bet the fan control ecu is in a stupid location and/or difficult to remove/change... Do I need a series 2 fan control ecu?

Yes you need a series 2 ecu, and it's in the drivers foot well on the left hand side, black and about the size of a packet of cigarettes.
