No buddy - H3 fitment.

The main beam is H1; dipped is H3

Thanks Richard, Nice one ;)

Is there not a difference in UK and Jap dip beam bulb fittments though?

That sounds right to me !

I'm sure there was a small mod that could be done though?, not sure if would work with hid's though

Chris

The dipped beam is actually H3C but with HID the H3's fit just perfectly. If you wanted to fit ordinary H3 bulbs you would have to add an earth lead.

Exactly! The bulb base shape/pattern is the same for H3 and H3C so an H3 HID kit will fit both UK and J-spec cars.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Correct, both JDM and UK Z32's take H3 bulbs when retrofitting HID's. HOWEVER, fitting to a JDM is straight forward, fitting to a UK car requires a conversion lead (from female spade to female bullet). Easily done.

I didn't bother with that.....;)

......I separated the plug from the loom; which connects the loom to the short cable that goes through the rubber into the back of the headlamp.

I then plugged the spade connectors (for the ballast packs) straight into the plug sockets in the loom and wrapped them well with insulating tape. Next I used a sharp knife to cut the small wires from the rubber light rear cover and fed the HID bulb cables through the hole. Once all in place; I filled the hole in the rubber light rear cap with silicone rubber and left it to harden.

That may sound a lot; but it leaves more slack to the cables allowing more mounting options for the ballast packs! Plus it gives a nice OEM look!
