Hi there, I currently own a Toyota starlet glanza v, And I've always been a fan of the z32... I'm now seriously considering a z32 non turbo, my main concern however is fuel usage, as I only have to space for one car and do quite a few miles a week.

What kind of mpg can I expect from a n/a? ( I now it's a big motor and wont be amazing, but it's gotta be better than the n/a supra I was previously considering, @ 18mpg!)

many thanks!

I get 30mpg on a motorway run (if I don't go mad), 24mpg in mixed use and 19mpg if just driving in town. Approx figures. NA LWB auto in good fettle.

Nice one. Cheers for the figures, that's not as bad as I thought.

Why am I finding it so hard to find a newer (1995ish) lwb 2+2 na manual?? The only ones I can see on pistonheads are either miles away ( I mean the other end of the country) or are 1990ish models whith problems... I have about £3500-£4000 to spend.

I'm still unsure if the turbo is for me, as I enjoy a bit of spirited driving now and again, sowhat mpg can I expect from the tt?

Also what are the performance figures on these? As I'm finding it quite difficult to find much info on them.

Id say the 300na and Supra na are pretty much on par, but whats the point in buying a stunning car like zed if you dont have the 2 extra bits under the bonnet  go for a TT chap

I used to have a n/a supra manual mk4, was easily doing around 25-30 mpg.

More like the tt supra doing 18mpg.

Welcome!

Simple, TT = extra cost when it goes wrong, N/A = a lot cheaper when it goes wrong (turbos :P)

Though it would seriously depend on what your maintenance regime is going to be like, It seems that life expectancy on 300zx parts doesnt seem to be that long (60kms (37k miles) service / 120kms (75k miles) service parts) from what i can tell, and from what I've read on here, someone always has a problem with the turbo at some point and costs can get quite high.

OK you could argue that its a 20 year old car and that its not your normal everyday mass produced mondeo, but you would also expect considering its a sports car / gran tourer, that parts should of been built to last a little bit longer than most have managed, especially with the low mileage that most of these cars tend to be advertised with, but that's just my view and im sure there will be plenty of people who disagree with some points.

But don't let that stop you, you get good and bad cars regardless of what manufacturer you get one from or even what car you buy and they really do stand the test of time well, with looks, performance, after market items.

Would be interesting to see posts though on what mileage people get from a full tank of fuel.

Anywhere between 200 and 400 miles in my TT. Costs me about £60-65 to fill.

Can't afford a full tank at these prices!!

 though i have 3/4 of a tank and cant drive it to waist it :)

Pottering around town 35quid (30litres) will get me around 120miles around town (my daily driver) which is around 18mpg and on motorways i average around 28mpg (70-80mph average) oh and thats for a TT Manual!

Its all about how much control you have of your Right foot!! My record in the Zed was 37mpg as i was tailing a van at 70mph for around 150miles!
