The New Car:D!

Well..............

Stuff the economy and a cheap run around.lol.

Went to the car auctions today and got...........

Ford_Cougar_11.jpg

2.5 V6.......It shifts.......

Not as fast as the zed but chirst it goes. Full leather a/c cd player electric seats......alot of goodies inside, popped the bonnet now im home and it also has a k and n airfilter. When the car is at around 3000rpm then it sounds like a cougar, just growls at you.

Got 50quid back on my insurance also so im happy.

The car has a few nigly bits, when melting my foot to the floor it can stutter alot, think the leads could be dirty what you think? Apart from that thats the only thing wrong with the performance.

Inside theres a few sensor faults but everything works perfect.

Now the good bit............whos going to have a guess at how much it cost me. Has 123k on the clock with 9 stamps in the service book.

Im happy with my purchase, got a nice powerful car that isnt the best of lookers but its nice for a young guy like myself. So ive now cheered up abit that ive got some wheels again.

Give it a service mate, plugs, oil filters etc and clean up all te connectors and see how she runs then.

That's what I'd do too mate.....

......then with your daily use it should improve; especialy if it's been sitting around for a while!

Good luck with it Craig. It's good you are "on the up" after your recent experience!

Richard:smw:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Report on the car:

Drove it to manchester and back there for the weekend.

And it managed it easy sitting on average about 75mph.

Still got the juddering now and then, so hopefully change of plugs solves that.

After that to be honest i couldnt fault the car, very comfy to sit in and use for driving a full trip of around 500miles. Would like that interior in the zed.lol!

I had one of these before I sold it for the z. Nice car to drive and had a massive boot on it too. Was awful for mpg though, was only getting around 28 on a run and 22 combined.

Does your car moose when starting from cold

i had one of these before my zed, lovly motor , not cheap fuel wise, but nice to drive, it does shift, you can get about 120mph out of it, but got rid as you cant overly mod it , http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://www.car-vs-car.de/images/autos/galerie/galerieFord-Cougar-R8-Look-vGRQ.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.car-vs-car.de/bilder-galerie/Ford-CougarR8Look-33577.html&h=343&w=518&sz=34&tbnid=CkDLrIzPY8Mv4M:&tbnh=87&tbnw=131&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dford%2Bcougar%2Br8&hl=en&usg=__meOIiT47TDJjyQe51sJJAbN9ZzI=&ei=mMTpSq3yGd_OjAfavKGcDQ&sa=X&oi=image_result&resnum=5&ct=image&ved=0CBQQ9QEwBA

thats the best thing you can put on it, and yeah i got the mossing too lol, cant rember how it got sorted, i think i replaced a valve to stop this

What do you guys mean my mossing?

Was starting to think today, could a slipping clutch cause juddering?

I think my clutch is fine tho to be honest..........

Got a small back fire comeing up a hill today in it after a judder.

When you start the car from cold you will hear a weird noise, kind of noise a moose may make. There is a little kit that you can get to stop it though. Think it had something to do with the air conditioning if i remember correctly.

Had the gearbox go on mine so had the clutch replaced at the same time so wouldnt know if that would cause juddering.

Awrite.........

well yeah i think mines is making this moosing noise aswell then. not just on start up it does it tho.

Just ordered my spark plugs from a fella who works for ford on the cougar forum so getting them cheap, then just going to put it into a garage for an oil and filter change and probs brake fluid aswell.
