guys trying to get these 2 apart as I need to remove mu fuse/relay box.

As you can see the grey one came apart no problem, the brown plug is being more difficult. I have tried the obvious of pushing down on the small plastic tab on the connector whilst pulling apart but no joy! Am I misssing something or do I have just just pull harder?

On the 2nd pic. how does the socket come away from the metal prong?

Tried pushing the tab in from hte under side with a flat bladed screwdriver but to no avail!! :smash:

Just push down with the flat blade as you're doing, you should hear a little click then just pull. The connectors have probably oxidized and stuck together.

wd40 n a flat blade screwdriver, use a little leverage by twisting the blade whilst pushing down on the tang thinggie

brown one put a flat blade screwdriver between the two haves (plastic tab and the other half) and twist while pushing it down.

always worked for me on a stubborn connector

Just staying on this subject, what`s the best thing to clean the connectors/contacts? wire wool, wire brush ??

DaZ

Contact cleaner and a little file.

Nice one Dave ;)

Thanks

DaZ.

Cheers santa, twist the screwdriver did the trick, now if only I can get the last bolt off that holds the relays/fuse unit to the inside of the wing I'd be done.

Sounds like good advice, will give that a go when I get some contact cleaner.

Ok, is it possible to remove the fuse/relay panel totally from hte car? i.e does it unplug from the under side?

the relays is it just a case of a flat bladed screw drive on hte tab down the side of the realy and the pull?

Don't think you can remove the loom from the relay boxes, my one was hard wired underneath. Don't know about removing them, however the fuses do come out by the method you mentioned.
