Hello bud,

If you're looking for a daily run about that may work out cheaper, who not consider a diesel that you can run veg oil or even bio on. New oil is £13 for 20 litres at the moment which works out to 65p a litre.

Vijay

Na thats kool mate, im only having it for about4months so not fussed about price on running etc matey.

i think they can suffer headgasket problems so make sure its nice and cold when you view it and make sure you warm it up properly and check the temperature, also a good luck at the oil and water ;)

good luck mate

Mike

Ahhhhhh, well the clocks had been chaged on it. they where reading 125k but its original mileage is 76k as the clocks had been changed to newer ones as the old clocks where nackered.

(not sure what you guys think of this, about clock changing?)

The guy was saying 550 takes the car away today, so i played hardball and stuck to my guns at 500 for it, as its just up the road so not bothered if i need to head back down for it.

So i left him to think about my offer of 500 considering he really wants rid of it he says. So thats me back home car less still.lol! Hopefully he will text an accept my offer of 500.

Clock changing sounds a bit iffy to me, especially how he is willing to drop the price by almost £300???

He said hes going to start his own business and needs rid of it for a diesel with tow bar.

He had the old clocks there.

Also checked the last MOT which was may this year with 70,000miles on it.

if it's what you want and you think it's a good deal get it bought. You've got cheap wheels for a walk down the road. It's taxed mot'd lots of goodies and you are mobile again. If it turns out to be a dog dump it and keep schtum.

Feeking giving up on trying to find a car.......i found a nice little civic but the person advertising it is being so stupid. Puts up just see if theres intrest, so i jumped on it now its aw dunno if i want to sell, honestly what an asshole!!

Why advertise if you dont want to sell.

Struggling to find something now as i phoned for about10 cheap cars today and all sold, alot of people must be downsizing i reckon.

But jesus........cant find nothing within 30-40miles:|!!!!

you need to be really quick Craig - I sold a Ka earlier this week for my girlfriend, within 5 mins of the post going on gumtree my phone started ringing...and kept doing so for the next 2 hours til I got the post offline.

The reason - traders are finding it hard to get cheap stock due to the scrapage scheme so they are buying anything cheap regardless of condition - the trader I sold to told me this.

Buyers (like I was) are happy for a quick sale so the trader says on the phone that there will be no test drive, they just come and pick up the keys, fill out the paperwork, give you the dosh and off they go.

The Ka drove off 90 minutes after I posted the ad! 3 page MOT failure sheet listed in the ad along with photos of the rust, complete banger that I was considering taking to the scrap yard sold for £300

I could stretch to the other 50quid, but with the clock thing i thought i would just stick to my guns at 500 especially since i was offering to take it away then and there.

I migh ttext him later saying ive had a good think about it and feel 500 would be my final offer and a good one and that i could collect in the morning.

still hunting around tho.lol!

Thing is.......it needs mot next month = 104quid.

Could really do with a new timing belt aswell as its never had one so that might be another 100-150.

Also would need another key cut.

Well that throws it out the window really mate! You'll end up it costing you double your budget!

Keep looking IMO.

Getting hard to find something which is the tough thing, getting kind of annoyed and trying to stay calm and not jump at the first thing.lol.

buy the 320bmw for sale here on the forum....

no tax plus would be more expensive to insure buddy.

Do you need summit so big fella? Can't you buy a 5 door hatch or summit. Surely you stand a better chance with your budget and also insurance will be miles cheaper!

No dont need anything near as big.

Ive located a 1.9diesel pug, 5door 306.

Hopefully get that for around 500. Got 115k on it had new timing belt and clutch fitted, MOT till december not sure of tax tho. Only thing is Head gasket, they are supposed to be not bad on the pugs but at 115k can never b to sure.

next door bought a 406 a few weeks ago, it has a bit of rust and has done 115k miles, they paid £650 for it, so £550 seems like a steal tbh matey :)

Have dealt a couple of 306's and they've been ok, obviously not owned them long enough to weed out any common faults etc but overall fairly good cars.

I'd just be very wary of short MOTs as you may well incur serious cost if loads needs doing! Check it very thoroughly if you can only find cars with short MOTs. Maybe ask the seller to re MOT it for you if they're confident it will pass etc.... I have done it for buyers in the past when i've been confident its a good car. :)

Not bad. Well its going to be my last resort i think to buy it, its clean outside but will need a timing belt and also the road tax plus cd player. so i think it could be just outside budget when all gets done.

I drive one of these mate. 40mpg even at well above the national speed limit ;) Dead cheap to insure and also to tax.

Probably a long way from you BUT this is the kinda thing you wanna see........12 months MOT and 6 months tax.
