Turbo timer wrong readings

Hey anyone ahd the same problem as me. Ive got a HKS type 1 turbo timer and the mph reading is off by about half when im doing 60 it says im doin about 30. Also the RPM reading is high by about 500 compared to the rpm reading on the standard gauge. The signal wires are connected into the wires at the ECU and its all the correct wires. Not sure if a simple bad connection might cause this any views??
