On tues the missus and i went out for a blast in the boat and i tried to cut 10 mins of the journey time by cutting across the "burbo bank" in liverpool bay...WRONG!!!!! hit the fvkin thing doing almost 50mph and got stranded for almost 7 hours waiting for the returning tide and caused £500 worth of damage to my motor in the bargin..my depth gauge was showing 24ft then half a second later 2ft:eek:..enjoy the pics:D

Look on the brightside- if you'd got stuck as the tide was just coming in we wouldnt have had the pics!

i run aground on this same bank 20 years ago on purpose then let the tide go and turned my 14ft speedboat upside down to try find where the boat was leaking from in the hull but this 21ft is another story to throw around...motor is now half stripped and will be getting re-built with wiesco slugs..racing reeds..lightened flywheel..skim the heads to increase compression and a few other mods to hopefully give me 75-80mph:D in the meantime this is what happens to a piston when it gets too hot by water jackets filling with sand and revving to 7000 rpm trying to get off the bank:)
