I am waiting for some front fog light ducts to turn up from Carmad and am think some or all of the following:-

Completely repaint the grey strip in satin black including the fog light ducts.

Smoke the sidelight/indicators in satin black.

Smoke the sidelight/indicators in satin black and lacquer/polish giving a shiny finish.

Leave side lights as they are.

What do you think?

Also can anyone photo sop the side lights so they look smoked?

Thanks in advance,

Andy

Hi Groover,

I've seen a 99 spec bumper with the side lights, indicators and the recess all blacked out and it looked really together.

I'll see if I can find it. It's a white American car I think.

Andy

You should of got them today??

im not to sure on spraying the side lights?? you can never seem to get enough light to come through them :(

You dont have to smoke the lens, just black the reflector, should give the same effect, like the 99 specs

I painted my front gloss black and put carbon ducts in and a little mod on the front repeaters.

99 specs are clear glass, just have a black reflector, giving it the effect of being smoked

Yes Alan,

I like the way the black strip makes your front end look wide. That's what I'm looking to achieve.

Pms sent/replied etc :)

This was done using Photoshop CS3.

Colour is Darkest Black available on the pallet, with an Opacity of 50% and a Flow of 100%..........

That looks great Dave

I'm pretty sure that there are two versions of the 99 spec indicator, one is clear and the other is smoked, but I've never been next to the two at the same time ;)

Cheers dave I appreciate that.

They look very nice. This photo was taken in low light so the Strip on the front bumper looks black when it is actually dark grey.

Your photoshop trickery has given me exactly what I wanted to see!

I just need to decide on satin black or gloss black!!

Thanks again Buddy.

New to all this, if I put fog light ducts in where will my side lights go?

HI there,

You can get later spec side lights that house two seperat bulbs (indicators and side lights) and dump the fog lights.

Andy

Picked my ducts up from the Post Office yesterday.

Very nice bit of kit. Thanks Dave.

Andy

Any pics yet matey. Love to see the ducts before and after, when fitted.
