my GTR goes in for the winter and to have work done on it. all suspension, diff and everything else will be taken off to restore. Anyway i have been looking at a build on the GTR club and tried to get some answers on what they treated the car with but no one gets any answers (AS USUALL:headvswal ) so any input from you guys would be great. the main thing is what to treat the rust with before painting (arms, drive shafts, anti roll bars) and then what to paint them with. Also they seemed to remove the nuts and bolts and cleaned them and painted them gold any ideas what this is. Here is the thread for you to look at i dont intend to do it the same but i want my GTR tidy.

They are probably either shot blasting them, etching them or silverplating them...or a combination of all 3.

You zink plate them and then get them either powdercoated black or silver plated.

PS, that's a great build thread on that forum, but all the effort the guy is going to and the high spec parts....yet he's fitted a Fram filter! Maybe just using that for a run-in filter.
