My cruise control hasnt worked since I bought the car. When I press the Cruise On button the green cruise light illuminates on the dash and the brown relay inside the passenger kick panel can be heard switching. There is a black relay beside it that I also replaced but I'm not sure what its for. My brake pedal switch seems to be working fine.

My ASCD Control Box has this printed on it “18930 50P00, ET70-537DC12V, K3ZH".

I see the ADCD modules on Ebay but they part number doesn’t match. I would appreciate any help that anyone can offer.

My fuse box in my engine bay doesn’t have any relays for cruise control. My car is a 1994 Twin Turbo Jap import. I couldn’t find a ASCD “Hold Relay”. Dave

Well, first off, welcome along to the club.

As for your problem, I'm afraid I can't help with that, but I'm sure someone will be along that might have an idea, just out of interest, I presume your zed still has it's original steering wheel?

Hello,

First of all do you have 2 throttle cables inside of your bonnet?

If you only have one, then part of your Cruise control has been removed.

If you have two, then normally the problem is your clutch pedal. Put your foot under your clutch pedal (while you have cruise control on and going over 35mph) and then press the button on your steering wheel to make your car cruise...

If none of that helps then its out of my hands  hopefully its just something basic!

As above really, the pedal switches are the common culprit.

At the back of the brake pedal there are 2 switches, one is the cruise cancel switch, the other is the brake light switch.

The brake light switch also cancels cruise when pressed (safety backup), but if faulty then obviously your brake lights wouldn't work....

The cancel switch IIRC is a normally closed which opens when pedal pressed, this interupts the cruise circuit. Sometimes this switch just needs adjusting, you can tell this is the case if you lift the brake pedal up whilst trying to activate cruise and it works.

If you have a manual car there will be another cancel switch on the clutch pedal...same applies. Then of course the switch can just be broken (mine was) so the cruise never operated because the computer thinks one of the pedals is pressed. I bridged it out to prove it and it worked. A new switch cost about £30.

Then of course you need the original steering wheel, press set at desired speed after the pod button activates the green cruise light.Without the wheel buttons cruise will not work.

Note jap spec cruise is limited to about 68mph & won't activate above that anyway.

HTHs :)
