Thought it would be an interesting thread to see what all us ZED owners do for a job? and describe what you have to do day to day.

I will start...

I own a dot com company (im sure that a few of you use my sites as we look after millions of people in the uk), its very varied day to day. Some days you have mountains of problems to deal with ranging from Staff, Hackers, and literally thousands of moaning people or techical problems. To other days where you can be creative coming up with new ideas and applications and get a great sence of achievement. I do love what I do but sometimes things move a bit slowly for my liking. :duffer:

On the plus side I have one of the guys in the office building me a nice site so I can post up all my progress and pictures on my 300zx.

I own a flooring company in the northwest.

What sites do you have as a matter of interest?

i install and maintain soft drinks equipment in pubs and clubs ( team leader surrey ) day to day bloody boring, but i guess i still enjoy it.

i own a roofing company and half own another in the next town;)

Well i was up until very recently training to fit suspended ceilings and was just getting to grips with it all, but the boss has had an op on his eye so i'm without that work for a few months now!!

I am now back to doing loadsa jobs lol. I work for the NHS and also a Logistics company based in the same building which covers a range of jobs so just as and when and whatever comes up. Keeps me busy and interested so its all good

I wish I could do something a bit more manual as flying a desk is bad for your health!. I dont think I could do roofing or ceilings though as I have no head for heights.

dont do as much as i used to these days..thats why i have a stupid wage bill each month:D

I work on the oil rigs in the North North Sea, which is off the shetland islands, between there and norway. Im on the North Cormorant.

I am a qualified instrument technician and am now an operations technician. I am the Oil ops tech which means i have 2 areas to run and i operate these to ensure production in oil runs smoothly and basically to ensure we get the oil out the ground and processed correctly to make some money:D!!

Instrument technician, i calibrated pressure/level/flow/temperature switchs, control valves, looked after fire and gas systems, and basically all kind of protections and process control systems

i now deliver top end cars (astons, bentleys, ferrrari's etc) nationwide. i think it's probably one of the best jobs in the world! before this i was a S.M.A.R.T repairer for 12 years!

I'm an Area Youth Worker and building manager, and i work with kids from 12 to 19

Day to day.... anything really - running a centre - delivering face to face work, supervising staff, dealing with police or social services, i work in schools around issues such as substance misuse and sexual health. Shedloads of H&S nonsense, mediation, facilitation, multi agency stuff, anything and everything really.

i love it - the kids i work with tend to be the naughty ones, scallys etc so its pretty varied.

I am a joiner by trade, and joint own my buisness called `Lloydlivesley` joinery and building contractors. We fit kitchens, bedrooms, upvc windows and doors and build extensions and loft conversions, infact we do the entire build processes from footings to finish.

I worked as a site manager for 8 years, but got made redundant this time last year, so went back to what I`m best doing, making people happy with our work and getting splinters. :smash:

So with znuts roofing expertise, our build process and Kirbz flooring company,we can build the best house ever ! then Stellaz can rent it out, and then all go round to riobenson for some free drinks :duffer:

Blimey, this is very interesting Craig do you fly out in a Helicoptor? Some people really have job satisfaction here by the sounds of it. Delivering ferraris would definately be better than owning one I can tell you that first hand. I love my Zed as you can do so much with them. Would be cool working with Kids I give support to a local business academy and sometimes they come to my house with their teacher for bacon butties!!

Im in the British army and i train new recruits so alot of shouting every day. Im a mechanic by trade which helps out alot as well especially with the problems ive been having with my zed.

:bow:now your begining to smell the coffee Daz

Damn right bud, but I`m a tea man (1 sugar please), coffee gives me headaches :D

Yeah mate, the night before i get a train to aberdeen, stay over night in the marriott hotel up there(company pays for that) Then at around 04:30am its time to get up and goto aberdeen airport to check in.

I then get a plane upto the shetland islands then sit around there waiting and when called for go put my survival suit on an get a helicopter out to the rig.

Craig AKA Bear Grills LOL that would scare the crap out of me m8 just the travelling. My Friend works on Helicoptors and he throws up from time to time when he is up as he has to work in the dark and said they are very lumpy :hurl:

Speaking of being sick I went to thorpe park yesterday one of my mates threw up after every rollercoaster but he went on them all. I have a coaster addiction I go all over the country to do them.

lol.

Helicopter rides arent that bad, sometimes they can dip in the air, which dont get me wrong can give you a fright as its maybe a drop of a good few feet.

The plane rights pritty much the same, get bad turbulance buts its only one of those right skinny planes, 2 seats one side and one the other.lol.

But its my job, its pays great, i get fantastic time off so i cant complain, willing to have a fright every time im going to work to get what i have. 2weeks on 2weeks off, 2weeks on 4weeks off, coming home tomorrow(thursday) for my 4 weeks off.

Any process operators or instrument electrical mechanical techs intrested in this kind of work just send me a pm could let you know some company names maybe.

nothing quite so interesting as you lot! - im an MI Developer for A&L / Santander UK. i develop, analyse and maintain web-based management information. was previously a warehouse manager :D

I have recently changed career after 10 years in the motor trade, I was pretty much everything apart from a mechanic but picking up tips over the years has paid off and I'm quite happy taking engines out and the like (even Z engines  )

Now I'm totally retraining and turning my back on everything I know, I am now an electrician, or to be precise a controls specialist, mainly dealing with heating controls and wireless comms. and I love it lol.

I run and play in a showband, performing all over the country/the world.

Have played in some pretty interesting places, Pakistan, greenland, beruit, dubai, venice, marbella, euro disney about 27 times for a company.

We do alot of corporate events and weddings, parties, get to play in all the top London hotels, Grosvenor park lane last week, Hilton park lane next.

I used to install lighting and pa equipment in holiday parks, clubs etc but just prefer the playing now.

The credit crunch has hit us like most business's, but its starting to pick up again.

I don't have a "real" job ;)..................I have to go somewhere and then maintain 2 Apache AH-64 Flight Simulators - a cool £40 million worth of video game - I turn up, fly and fix the simulators and they pay me - Simplezzz:dance:

VVVVV - me in "The Office" :D

Edited by Apache

I drive these for a living:D

I work all over the world but have been in Spain for the last 3 years as its nearer home and theres still loads of work.

This thing digs a trench 80m deep x3 meters long x 1.2m wide.

All the material is sucked up through the black hose and deposited up to 1/2 a mile away.

Used for underground carparks, storage tanks or as were doing now shafts for a tunnel boring machine for Barcelonas new metro system.
