Just need to check if this is ok http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MICRO-DYNAMICS-DASH-MOUNTED-REV-LIMITER-RL5-MAC_W0QQitemZ200389450082QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item2ea8245962&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

As I've no idea what this means 'MicroDYNAMICS’ ‘SmoothCut’ Rev Limiters are NOT compatible with Capacitor Discharge type ignition units'

Well microdynamics are the makers, Smooth cut will be the type of Limit on the Rev's (as some cut fuel instead of electronically stopping revs or something like that) and i dont know what type of Ignition Unit Zed's have

It's the Capacitor Discharge type ignition units bit I'm stuck on, should make that bit clear as I have no idea what type the Z runs either??

The drive I had last week when the single tub spools up the car is rapid and the revs climb very quickly and keep climbing and I would rather pay more attention to the road than the rev counter. It still pulls past 6500-7000 which is a bit close to the mark for my liking without a safety net! Once the mapping is done I think the problem will be worse as the big flat spots will be gone.

Antony, I can just set whatever rev limit you want in the ECU!

Oh, and Z is inductive igniton, not CDi

if the car is on either a base map or no map yet then your taking a huuuuuuge risk taking it to anywhere near the rev limiter!!! no matter how tempting it is you need to keep the revs below 3-4000 until its run in and mapped right or your seriously risking the car going boom

just my thoughts and as john says he can limit the car to anything you want :)

Didn't mean to, due to the map issue it wasn't going past 3k but for some reason it managed to get past that and the turbo kicked and caught me out :slap: To make it worse some bloke pulled out in front of me as it was going full chat, ABS not wired in yet = 2 massive tyre skid marks down the road

Just reading this in Beijing and wishing i was home to pop over!! Drop you a mail soon. Damo.
